Enid is a Ghost

“Enid is a Ghost” is a children’s illustrated book that centres around a young girl who comes from a vampire family and identifies as a ghost. This book is based on a real-life experience of being a transgender child but not knowing the words to explain how different you feel. Creating this narrative in a fantastical, monster world felt most natural as Halloween meant a lot to Axel as a young child, with it being acceptable to dress up however he wanted to for one night.

Axel hopes that “Enid is a Ghost” can appeal to young children who may relate to the feelings of Enid, but also adults who can relate to growing up in families where the topic of gender was never explored.
