The Memory Box

During Axel’s final year at University, he created a paper on “How Do Artists Use Art as a Therapeutic Vehicle?”, which was accompanied by a hand-crafted memory box.

This project represented a personal traumatic memory where art could be used to hand-craft places and experiences of trauma as a way to articulate feelings through 3D craft.

Memory 2008-2009-2011-2012 encapsulates the childhood trauma of an abusive parent, where a small clay model of an all-seeing figure is seen peeking through the gap in the closet.
